Congrats to Kelsey and Greylan on their wedding celebration which took place on October 8, 2022 at The Cloth Mill located in the historic district of Hillsborough, NC. This was my first time working an event at this venue and it was very cool with a chic warehouse vibe as it was a textile mill back in the day right next to the Eno River.
I met this couple well over a year ago and it was a great referral from ABBA Design, who was also was the couples event planner and floral designer. We scheduled an engagement session which took place in the tobacco district in Durham and then drove over to Duke Gardens for a completely different look and feel.
It is always nice to work with my wedding couples before the wedding to build repour and make them comfortable come the wedding day!
The wedding day preparation photos started at The Colonial Inn which was built in 1759 and only a few minutes drive to The Cloth Mill. I captured some fast pace prep photos and then helped create a wonderful moment for Kelsey and her Dad which was a first look at the back side of the hotel.
The bridal party wrapped up at the hotel and took a party van over to the venue to get ready for the ceremony. The ceremony site was outdoor in a cool courtyard and the weather that day was perfect NC fall temperature and is one of my favorite times of year here in NC.
Kelsey and Grey were all about taking some unique photos after the ceremony and are both very creative people. Kelsey is a graphic designer and Grey is a musician. We took full advantage of the venue and discovered this cool back alley with old brick and exposed architecture to use as a unique background.
I made the most of that time and got them back to the event planner for a perfectly timed grand entrance to their reception.
The night kicked off with the first dance followed by the parent dances and some wonderful speeches from the father of the bride and the bride's best friend from college. A delicious meal was provided and then the dancing kicked into high gear right after they cut the cake.
