The Rigmor House is a beautiful wedding venue in Chapel Hill, NC and a perfect setting for the newly weds, Crystal and Dain. They were able to rent the facility for multiple days which allowed for a variety of gatherings and even allowing friends and family to pop up camping tents to create with a cool festival vibe for these two free spirits!
The day began with endless rain in the forecast and pouring rain on my drive from Greensboro to Chapel Hill. I got there around 3pm and the forecast was still predicting rain for hours, but to our surprise the rain left and overcast skies remained to allow for a wonderful outdoor wedding and celebration. Crystal and Dain incorporated many unique traditions into their special wedding day which made it so fun to capture and create meaningful images for them.
The timeline before the ceremony was tight, but still had enough time to orchestrate an intimate first look for the couple and captured some wonderful smiles and excitement during that moment in time. We then prepped for the ceremony and concluded with some special family photos and shots around the venue.
We snuck away for 15 minutes with a golf cart before the reception began and captured some amazing portraits on the grounds and in the woods as this was an important item on the couple shot list. I made sure to create some whimsical images and was given complete creative freedom to do so which allowed me to be in the zone and have my creative juices flowing.
Crystal and Dain were then introduced as husband and wife to their closest family and friends and kicked off the festivities with a beautiful first dance followed by a delicious meal provided by a Mexican cuisine food truck and a copious amount of tasty draft beers. You could really feel the love in the room that night as a few people gave such heart warming toasts and it was great capturing those special moments and the reactions of Crystal and Dain.
The party continued on as the DJ provided an awesome selection of music and then proceeded on with a Grateful Dead cake cutting as the band began to set up their gear for the after party. I really had a blast photographing this event and appreciate all the wonderful clients I have worked with over the last 18 years and Crystal and Dain were no exception!
I look forward to having the newly weds visit the studio soon for their full wedding preview on the big screen.
