I had the pleasure of working with Emily and Chrissie on their beautiful wedding day here in the Triad of North Carolina a few weeks ago. Browns Summit is only a few miles from our photography studio in Greensboro and we had a great day of weather with overcast skies and calm temperatures for the month of October.
My assistant and I arrived to their parents home stead where the event took place in the backyard with a large tent near by for the reception. We captured a few details of the venue and prepared for the first look the couple requested to have before the ceremony. I always love capturing this special moment for our wedding clients as it gives them an opportunity to see each other on such an emotionally charged day. Emily and Chrissie had their first look on the front steps of the home and gave them a few minutes to enjoy that moment in time before we got ready for the ceremony.
I then photographed a variety of family shots and organized a large group shot of everyone that was in attendance that day. I got up a 10 foot ladder and over 60 people gathered in for the shot and we nailed it. I then snuck the newly weds away for a few minutes for some nice portraits of them before the sun went down.
I have had the privilege of being a wedding photographer here in North Carolina since 2004 and have traveled to many locations throughout the state. As we all know wedding food and catering services can be a hit or miss. This event was a major hit because 1618 On Location was there to deliver exceptional service and quality of food. I have done a few other special events with this company and they are always on point with tasty cuisine. I even had a few extra minutes to capture some of the great selections that day with my macro lens which gives an incredible magnification and perspective when shooting details like food and jewelry.
After an incredible meal we proceeded to the first dance, parent dances, cake cut and toasting portion of the evening where loving words were offered to the newly weds and even I got choked up behind the camera. We then hung out for another hour or so for some dancing and then a mock departure took place so we did not interrupt the flow of the party time. My assistant held a video light to provide off camera light direction and shot the couple walking away as their final image of the evening.
I plan to invite Emily and Chrissie to the studio soon for a personal preview session on the big screen and champagne toast! Please be sure to keep Micciche Photography in mind for your 2019 & 2020 special events and wedding photography needs.
