Summerfield Farms is a unique and amazing wedding venue located in the triad area of North Carolina. They have been open for business many years now and offer a great location for weddings and special events. This was my first time photographing a wedding there and was impressed with the grounds and staff. Please enjoy this highlight blog post for the newlyweds, Tracey and Josh Vernon.
I have known Tracey since we were small kids growing up on Long Island, NY. We both now live here in Greensboro and had the opportunity to meet her now husband, Josh, about a year ago at my studio for a photography consultation. We ironed out the wedding plans and booked our engagement session at Summerfield Farms many months back and they are now happily married and wish them the best.
I have been a Greensboro wedding photographer since 2004 and have been able to work in a lot of North Carolina wedding venues. I was impressed with Summerfield Farms because they have separate cabins for girls and guys to get ready in which makes it easier for the bridal party but for the photography team too. My assistant and I captured the prep shots and then got ready for the ceremony which took place in the main barn. It was a packed house that day and made for awesome photography with emotions and special moments to capture.
The bridal party and I took the tractor around the property for some fun shots while the guests were enjoying cocktail hour. We then prepared for the introduction of the newlyweds and the DJ that evening took it from there. Dow Oak Events was the dj and mc for the evening and they did a wonderful job keeping the reception on time and also getting people up and dancing til the end of the night. The event was truly one of my favorites so far this year and look forward to sharing the entire event with Tracey and Josh soon.
The night concluded with a final dance for them alone on the dance floor while the guests prepared for the sparkler exit. This was a special moment for them and allowed my assistant and I to really capture the moment in a candid and unobtrusive style. The sparkler exit was a hit and Tracey and Josh drove off in the vintage pick up truck which was provided by a friend of the family.
