Congrats to the newlyweds, Audrey and Derek. They invited their immediate family and close friends earlier this month to celebrate their special day and backyard wedding event. The wedding and reception took place at Audrey's parents home here in Lake Jeanette, Greensboro, NC.
I was referred to this couple by one of my favorite event planners, Renee with Bears, Balloons & Beyond. We have worked together for over 10 years and this event was a traditional Jewish wedding with interesting and fun components to document throughout the day. I arrived mid-afternoon to capture some details and the ketubah signing which happens right before the bride and groom walk down the isle. The weather was warm, but thankfully no rain in the forecast which allowed for the backyard wedding under the chuppa, a canopy under which the couple stands during their wedding ceremony.
Rabbi Andy officiated the wedding and he is one of two Rabbi's at Temple Emmanuel here in Greensboro. We have worked numerous weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs through the years and great to see him again after almost two years. Having an outdoor event is wonderful because it allows the photographer to move a lot more and capture unique angles very quickly.
After the ceremony we captured some family formals and had a delicious meal created by Painted Plate. We then cut the cake and then took a break before the evening reception which was casual by the pool deck. A beautiful first dance was enjoyed by Audrey and Derek with live music played by Derek's stepfather. He played Eric Clapton's "You Look Wonderful Tonight".
It was a pleasure working with this couple and their families to capture their special day. Please be sure to keep our photography studio in mind for 2021 & 2022 special events of all kinds. Micciche Photography celebrated 17 years in business this past May of 2021.
