Congrats to Victoria and Bryan on the recent birth of their second child. Kathleen Grace Messick was born on October 11, 2021 at the Cone Health Women & Children's Center here in Greensboro, NC.
As most of you know, I have lived here in the Triad area of North Carolina for just over 20 years and have provided professional photography for almost 18 of those years. I have truly enjoyed the balance of personal portraits, weddings and corporate photo projects each year and started working with The Messick family about two years ago. It is so fun watching families grow and I appreciate them allowing me to be part of it!
Victoria reached out a few weeks before the due date of her baby and asked a very special question, which was for me to be on stand by for when the birth came to be and arrive to the hospital the very next day to provide an intimate new born session in their hospital room.
I rarely get asked this request, but gladly said yes and was able to provide this mini session the very next day and utilized the perfect natural light from the large windows of the room and also used my 100mm Macro lens for a beautiful final product. I was sure to provide a nice mix of traditional portraits of the three of them, but also some up-close details of the baby's hands and feet.
We then pre scheduled another family session to take place in their home about three weeks later. That allowed us to incorporate big brother Landon and had some fun with that as well. The goal of this session was to create candid images of the family hanging out in their home and on their bed in a variety of ways.
In addition to creating an online proof gallery and a folder of edited images, we also created a beautiful 16x20 inch wall portrait of the family of four that now hangs proudly in their home. I do provide custom framing services for the photography I capture and any other mediums for that matter.
