I captured Lexton's High School Senior photography session a few weeks back and worked with him in studio and in downtown Greensboro to create a very cool and unique shoot and selection of images. He is an accomplished bass guitar player and wanted to showcase that interest during the session.
HS Senior portrait photography is always cool to shoot because each subject is so very different and being able to bring that out in the photography is most fun! We started in studio on a black backdrop for a dramatic look and feel. Lexton brought his two favorite instruments and amplifier to use as props. We treated this part of the shoot almost like a album cover with a variety of angles that he and his family would enjoy by bridging the gap of edgy and approachable expressions and such.
I have offered portrait photography here in Greensboro, Summerfield and all over the Triad area of North Carolina for many years and am always available for travel to shoot in unique locations I have been to or not. Capturing portraits in new locations is always fun because it forces me to be creative and look at the surroundings in a different way. The second part of this HS Senior session took place in downtown Greensboro which I know very well as my old studio was on S. Elm St. Lexton and I started down by the Mellow Mushroom and then I took him through side streets, back alley ways and placed him against the awesome old architecture and brick work that downtown has to offer.
We concluded the portrait session with his bass guitar once more and achieved some cool photographs near the Star Theatre on Elm Street. During this difficult time please be sure to celebrate our 2020 High School Seniors and keep my studio in mind for your next unique portrait session here in the Triad of NC.
